Kristen Zimmerman (Krissy) began dancing at the age of 2 and a half at Encore Dance Center. Dancing at Encore gave Krissy many great opportunities to perform in musicals such as Roger and Hammerstein's “Cinderella”, “No, No, Nannette”, Guys and Dolls, and Pirates of Pennsance. Kristen performed with Encore in Walt Disney World's “Disney Magic Music Days”, for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines on the Nordic Empress, Enhancement of the Seas, and Mariner of the Seas, in their “Stars at Sea” program as well as performances at Hershey Park, Lititz Springs 4th of July Celebration, and Harrisburg Christmas Craft Show.
She continued dancing at Encore until graduating from high school and moved to Miami Shores Florida to attend Barry University where she graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education, and a Minor in Dance. While attending Barry University Krissy was the assistant choreographer of the University's musical of “Pippin”, as well as helping with many other productions at the University. While at Barry she also co created Barry University's Dance Performance Team “Expressions”. In 2002 Krissy was CO-Producer, and Choreographer of a children's production in South Miami called “Safety Kids” a Community Crusade Against Drugs of South Florida, Inc.
Since graduating from Barry University she has returned to Lancaster where she began teaching a variety of classes at Encore Dance Center. She has also taught Dance as Physical Education Class at Linden Hall, and was part of the enrichment program at Fritz Elementary School in Leola where she taught dance after school. She continues to keeps her dance education up to date by taking classes at Broadway Dance Center, and Steps in New York City throughout the year, as well as attending Broadway Dance Center's Pulse workshop yearly, and taking classes from renowned choreographers such as Mia Michaels, Shane Sparks, Mandy Moore, Luam, Laurie Ann Gibson, Wade Robson, Chris Judd, Brian Friedman, and Gil Stroming, and Mike Minery, Nick Lazzarini and many more.
