Tanya Coonan joined the staff of Encore Dance Center in 1995. Tanya began baton twirling at the age of four and dance at the age of eight. She competed individually and as a team member for DMA competitions. Tanya was a cheerleader for nine years, three of those years as squad Captain. As a cheerleader she was a member of the Big 33.

Tanya attended Harrisburg Area Community College where she received a degree in Business Management. Tanya was an instructor for New Line Revue where she choreographed award winning routines for state and national competitions. She was a performer in the Florida Citrus Bowl’s half-time show in 1998.

Tanya is certified by the Little People’s Creative Dance Workshop and is continually furthering her dance education and training by attending workshops by American Dance Heritage, Manhattan Dance Project and New York City Dance Alliance. Over the next four years Tanya will be receiving her teaching certification from Dance Masters of America.
